I need to learn not to freak out and get stressed if I am trouble finding a feature. Just gotta keep on swimming and not get swept up in the tide-- it will come easier with time and I'll be able to get features on days when there seems like there isn't any to be found.

Shout out to Ronni, whose picture back in November inspired me to try my hand at something similar to get a weather feature when no one was out doing anything. Thanks Ronni!

no prob Anna! I am glad your paper liked it, my paper hated it...I'm ready to move on soon...I can empathize with you, there are those days and you can't beat yourself up. I learned that from living in a place that everybody says used to be cool....in the 1800's that is...lol...liking your stuff!
Hello Anna,
I came across your site by when I looked through my visitor paths. Thank you for throwing my link up on your site. One of the photogs I work with actually got his start in Loraine. He talks fondly of his days there - keep in mind that was nearly 20 years ago.
Anyway, his name is Brian Tombaugh, and he is our Chief Photographer here at The News-Sentinel.
BTW - don't stress over those weather features. Keep a notebook of things you see around town like the way light hits at different times of day or a great graphic pattern that would work well with weather art. Then, when your in a jam, you can pull out the notebook and find a situation that might work for that day without driving back and forth across town in a panic.
Take care.
