Here are a couple of outakes from my day. It was weird that I actually had to feature hunt on a Saturday because usually there are assignments for Sunday's paper on Saturday. None the less, spot news came through and an apartment fire saved the day! Woo! But the crummy thing about the fire though is it pulled me away from being able to go out on the lake to shoot two guys practicing sailing for an international race they're competing in next weekend in Maryland. Sooooo close being able to get out on the lake! Maybe sometime soon--I need to make friends with sail boat people.
Photographed little league for the first time this summer. Yeah, I miss high school baseball and legion baseball where there isn't a zillion extra bodies on the field, and there is actually more action to get from.

Grandmother helping her great grand daughter collect shells at the beach

All I can say is that this guy is gonna have one funny tan line on his stomach from his arms.

I just snapped this one because I thought the little blonde kid was cute. After looking back at it, I wish I would have gotten their names. I like this photo because of the dead space and its simplicity.

These two guys are going to be competing in an international sailboat race next weekend in Maryland.

My favorite image from little league. This kid was A-dorable!

definately should have gotten their names you dingbat! :-) I've done the same thing before too though... :-)
I like the kids on the beach one, too. If I were to take that for the BDN, though, my editor would probably crop all the dead space away. He doesn't understand the elements of photography at all and just crops, crops, crops!
been missin ya! lovin your stuff!
I also agree with you about the kids on the beach picture, I wouldn't call it dead space, though. I think that dead space implies that if the space weren't there the picture would be better. I would call it "room to breathe."
