Fridays are my Mondays since its the first day of my work week this month. Well it definitely felt like an actual Monday since all I did was feature hunt after my one assignment. I found this boy riding his scooter around the skate park in Avon Lake. He was thrilled when he found out I was from the newspaper, he actually called his dad on his grandma's cell phone to tell him. The real kicker was when his cute little sister came over to offer me one of her gumballs, the kid said "Don't steal my spotlight!"
I was trying to get something extraordinary from this ordinary finding.
I ended up turning in the photo above because I knew the paper would run it, but I like this photo because its more artsy and different from my typical shooting style. I would have love to turn it in, but I knew they would never run it. But thats why I have this, to publish photos my paper won't.

I like both of these shots... but the shadow is definitely cool... good eye!
I know what you are talking about...had that discussion this week...I like both, but it would be cool to find a use for the second one...
