I feel like I have hit a photographer's funk--a "photographer's block" if you will. I have not felt inspired lately with my features, and have not had any luck of finding any good features. I have been frustrated as of late because I will not have any assignments besides maybe a basketball game in the evening, so I am just out feature hunting aimlessly with no objective in mind. And since I'm usually feature hunting between 1pm and about 5 or 6pm during the week its hard to find people out doing things or go into businesses that actually have people in them doing things or people actually working. My frustration leads to a bad mood, and my bad mood leads me to not produce great features. I know I need to not sweat the small stuff and keep a positive attitude about things and believe that features will find me. Another thing I am struggling with is seeing things going on and not immediately stopping and trying to get a photo from it. I always think "I can come back to this" or "I'll shoot it another day." If I see a potential feature, I need to pull over and get a picture, not excuses, no second-guessing myself.
So, today after getting A feature, I was determined to come back with more than one feature so we'd have stuff to run this weekend as well. After failing to get two different features, I finally found this cute family outside building a snowman. YAY! And to top it off, the parents were really nice and friendly, and the kids were super cute and fun to photograph.
Okay, enough of me babbling on. Here are the pictures from today.
